A fence just stands there. A gate opens and closes thousands of times, in wind, through summer expansion and winter contraction, often carrying a lot of weight. That's why gates are where most fencing jobs eventually go wrong — a gate post that wasn't footed heavily enough, a frame that racks, or a motor sized for a lighter gate than the one it's pushing.
We build gates to match whatever the fence is — Colorbond, aluminium slat, tubular steel or chainwire — and we size the posts, the footings and the hardware for the actual gate rather than the standard one. If it's being automated, the motor gets specified for the weight and the duty cycle, not just the width.

HOW WE BUILD IT
MEASURE THE OPENING AND THE FALL
We measure the opening, check the fall across it and the run-back space beside it, which decides whether it slides or swings.
HEAVY FOOTINGS
Gate posts get oversized footings. A gate post carries a cantilevered load that a fence post never sees.
BUILD AND HANG THE GATE
Frame built square and braced, infill fitted to match the fence, gate hung and adjusted to swing or slide true.
AUTOMATION
Motor sized for the gate's weight and duty, plus safety beams, remotes and any keypad or intercom. Cabling run and terminated.
TEST AND SHOW YOU
Gate cycled repeatedly, safety beams tested, obstruction behaviour checked, and we run you through the remotes and the manual release before we leave.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR QUOTE
Anything quoted separately — extra excavation, spoil removal, tricky access, or council-required work — is listed as its own line on the quote before you accept it, not added afterwards.

It comes down to space. A swing gate needs clear arc room inside the property and a reasonably level opening; a sliding gate needs run-back room along the fence line but works on a driveway that slopes towards the street. If the driveway rises from the road, sliding is usually the only sensible answer.
